2008 Ford Mustang GT

Bone stock these guys really respond well to tuning

As part of “Wes’s Fun Dyno Day“, Matt brought up his bone stone 2008 GT to participate in an auto vs stick shootout. This car is clean!

I baselined the car on the factory tune and then loaded a base 93 tune with a few tweaks so that I could keep the tuning consistent between this car and the auto I was comparing against.

Baseline dyno #s MustangDyne: 220hp / 254tq (SAE corrected)
Final dyno #s MustangDyne: 238hp / 266tq (SAE corrected)

Dyno Chart with both runs

The knock sensors on the S197 Mustangs work really well on mostly stock vehicles but there is still quite a bit to be had both in terms of horsepower and also in pedal feel with the electronic throttle. I am also able to take advantage of the variable cam to advance and retard the camshaft to achieve optimum power. These cars respond really well to tuning and boltons and are potent performers!

UPDATE: 1/7/2009… 13.24 @ 105; 1.9 60′

Matt was able to roll out with a 13.24 @ 105 with the following mods:

TPS tune, UPR X-Pipe, BBK CAI, Underdrive Pullies, Tubular Radiator Support, ET Streets

Check out this launch! There are 12s in the car… stay tuned!
